Restaurant menus that keep up with your kitchen

Full-service restaurants change more than they admit — a supplier price, a dish off the board, a seasonal section. One item list drives your QR menu, your printed card and your table tents, so none of them can disagree.

Full-service reality

Course structure, allergens and a menu that changes weekly

A restaurant menu is not a list — it is a sequence. Starters set the pace, mains carry the margin, and the dessert section only gets read after a decision has been made. MenuFly keeps that structure intact on a phone screen.

  • Courses in the order your service runs
  • Chef’s picks and bestsellers pinned to the top of a section
  • Allergen and dietary tags guests can filter
  • 86 a dish from the pass — it greys out at every table
  • Wine and bar list as its own menu on the same code

What a restaurant actually needs from its menu

The features that matter at 8:30 pm on a Saturday.

🚫

Sold-out in two taps

The pass runs out of lamb. The dish greys out everywhere before the next order is taken.

💰

Price rises without a reprint

Change a price once and every table sees it. Reprint the folder when you feel like it, not when you have to.

🍷

Separate bar list

A wine and cocktail menu on the same QR code, opened from a tab rather than buried at the bottom.

🏷

Allergens on record

Tag every dish once. Guests filter, and your staff stop guessing on behalf of the kitchen.

📊

Table-level analytics

Which sections scan, which dishes get opened, and how long guests spend deciding.

📄

The printed card too

Export the same menu as a press-ready PDF for the leather folder, in A4, A5 or booklet.

Setup

Live before your next service

1

Send your current card

A photo of the printed menu is enough. We structure the courses, dishes and prices for you.

2

Tag and photograph

Add dietary tags, mark the chef’s picks and photograph the six dishes you most want to sell.

3

Print tents and cards

Table tents with numbered QR codes, plus a print-ready PDF for the folder.

4

Adjust from the numbers

After two weeks, promote what sells and cut what nobody opens.

Running the menu

Notes for full-service restaurants

Keep the printed card — just stop reprinting it every month

In a room with white tablecloths, a leather folder is part of the experience and a QR code is not a substitute. The practical setup is a printed card for the courses that never change and a QR menu for specials, the bar list and anything price-sensitive.

The specials board is where digital wins outright

Handwritten specials are illegible from three tables away and out of date by Thursday. A specials section with a photo, a price and a sold-out toggle sells considerably more, and it costs one edit a day.

Let guests filter rather than ask

  • Vegetarian, vegan and Jain, tagged properly rather than implied by the dish name
  • Nuts, dairy, gluten and shellfish, because someone at the table always asks
  • Spice level, which prevents more sent-back plates than any other tag

Watch what happens after a price rise

When you raise the price of a main, analytics tell you within a fortnight whether guests moved to a cheaper dish or absorbed it. That is a far better guide to your next price decision than the argument you would otherwise have with your partner.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Can I keep my printed menu and add a QR menu?

Yes, and most full-service restaurants do. Both are generated from one item list, so the folder and the phone can never show different prices.

How do I handle daily specials?

Give specials their own section and edit it each morning from your phone. Set it to expire at the end of service and it clears itself.

Can the wine list be separate from the food menu?

Yes. Multiple menus can sit behind the same QR code, so guests switch between food and drinks with a tab rather than a long scroll.

What if a dish runs out mid-service?

Toggle it sold out from your phone. It greys out for every guest immediately and comes back when you clear it.

Does it work for multiple outlets?

Yes. Each outlet gets its own menu and QR codes, with shared items where the menu overlaps and separate prices where it does not.

Can I connect it to my POS?

Yes, through the API, so a price changed in your POS updates the menu without anyone retyping it.
