Bakery menus that price by the piece, the box and the kilo

A bakery list is three price lists in one, and half of it sells out by four. MenuFly handles unit pricing, bake days and sold-out items without you rewriting the counter card.

Counter reality

The list changes twice a day — the card should too

Fresh out at 7:30, sold out by 3, and a completely different set of bakes on Sunday. A printed price list is out of date before lunch. A digital one is not.

  • Per piece, per box and per kilo on the same line
  • Bake schedule so guests know which days you make what
  • Sold-out toggle that resets for tomorrow
  • Allergen tags on everything, filterable by guests
  • Custom cake enquiries straight into WhatsApp

Running a bakery list

What a bakery menu has to get right

Today’s bakes are the headline

The strongest thing a bakery can say is what came out of the oven this morning. Put it at the top with the time. It is the most-read line on any bakery menu and it takes one edit a day to keep honest.

Make the box the easy decision

Showing “each 120, box of six 650” on one line does the arithmetic for the customer and moves a large share of single-pastry purchases into weekend orders. Separating boxes into their own section, which most bakery menus do, hides the offer at the moment it matters.

Answer allergens before anyone asks

  • Tag nuts, gluten, dairy, egg and soy on every item, including the obvious ones
  • Let guests filter, so someone avoiding gluten sees their options immediately
  • State shared-equipment risk once and clearly, rather than on every line

Keep celebration cakes off the price list

Custom cakes are quoted. Give them a section with photographs, a starting price and an enquiry button rather than trying to price every size and flavour combination. The enquiry arrives with the details already filled in, which is how you stop losing an afternoon to WhatsApp.

Selling out is good news

A greyed-out loaf at 3 pm tells customers to come earlier tomorrow. It reads as demand, not as failure — and it saves your counter staff the same apology thirty times a day.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Can I price the same product by piece, box and kilo?

Yes. Each product holds multiple units, shown on one line rather than as duplicate entries.

How do I show which days I bake certain items?

Attach a bake schedule to the item. It appears on the days you bake it and hides itself on the others.

Can customers enquire about custom cakes?

Yes. A quote button opens WhatsApp with the cake, size and date already written in, so the enquiry arrives usable.

Can I print shelf tickets and a counter card?

Yes, both from the same item list as your QR menu, so the prices always match.

What happens when something sells out?

Toggle it and it greys out for customers. It comes back automatically with your next bake day.

Do you support weight-based pricing for cakes?

Yes. Price per half kilo and per kilo, with minimum order quantities where you need them.
